2016/2017 Youth Exchange Student Mary Joie

Mary Joie Agustin, a Whitby high school student, was selected as the Rotary Club of Whitby Sunrise's 2016/2017 youth exchange student.  She began her 11 month adventure on August 17, 2016 when she boarded the plane to Germany. She will live with Rotarian families in Germany for almost an entire year.  Rotary's Youth Exchange program provides opportunities for students to share their own culture and embrace a new one. Exchange fosters global peace, one student at a time.  Students gain greater understanding of who they are and their own country the process.  Building world knowledge, tolerance and gratitude is what happens through the Rotary Youth Exchange program.   Read Mary Joie's blog, see pictures, share his experience, watch the change.
