Welcome to the Rotary Club of Whitby Sunrise!  Take some time to browse our website and learn more about our club, and if you have any questions just send me an e-mail.

If you’re interested in getting more involved in our community, making new friends and having some fun, Rotary might be just what you’re looking for.

Rotary is the largest service club in the world, consisting of approximately 1.2 million volunteers in over 200 countries - people from all walks of life, professionals, business owners and employees, teachers, public servants, artists, retired folks, and anyone else who wants to get involved in helping humanity at both the local and international levels.

You’ve probably already seen some of the contributions and events organized by the Rotary Club of Whitby Sunrise things such as:
  • The annual www.WhitbyRibfest.com festival in July
  • The “Green Gym” at Heydenshore Park
  • The Wounded Warriors Park of Reflection at Cullen Central Park
  • The annual “Savour the Flavour” dinner night in February

You may also have seen the Rotary logo associated with countless other events and activities.  But what you probably haven’t seen is the myriad “behind the scenes” community service work we regularly do to support our community.  Things like:
  • Providing assisted living equipment to those in need in conjunction with other service clubs, through our Partnership in Service program.
  • Helping at St. Vincent’s Kitchen
  • “Adopt a Road” road clean-up
  • Supporting local food banks
  • Aiding, supporting and giving opportunities to youth through scholarships, mentoring and international exchange.
  • Support for countless other projects and organizations that help and improve our community.

If helping others on the international level interests you, Rotary is also the place to be!  Our club annually provides funding in support of international projects in Laos, the Dominican Republic, and other locales.

But, fellowship and fun is important too, which is why we have so many fellowship events every year where we interact and just have some fun with fellow Rotarians.  Whether it’s bicycle riding, sledge hockey, beer testing, dinners, or just friendly get-togethers, Rotary is a great way to meet new friends and get together with existing ones.

I’ve only scratched the surface of what we do, there’s a lot more.  So if you want to help others, or if you simply want to make some new friends and get more involved in our community, join us as our guest at one of our weekly meetings.
