This week I went to every day of school from eight in the morning until twelve. The first week we ended early but starting next week we'll go from eight until two. I still don't understand much of what goes on in class but sometimes I read my little book entitled Italian For Travellers. It teaches me the most common verbs and how to perfect my grammar. I've noticed that my English is getting worse as my Italian slowly gets better. After school I take the bus home with Amanda and my new friends from school, who like to teach me a few new words everyday.

On Thursday night I went to my host's Rotary Club meeting and met the other exchange students in the club. There's four of us, three of which speak English as their first language. There's Anna whose from Germany and who can also speak English. Then Jessica and Azmon who are both from the States. Jessica is from California and Azmon from South Dakota. We met our councillor and ate dinner together. (pasta included)

On Friday night there was a special Jewish occasion that includes a 24 hour fasting period. Before the fast started the family had a few friends over for a big dinner. I didn't participate in the fast but I ate dinner with the family before it started. On Saturday I went to the center of Rome with Jessica and we walked around the entire day to visit all of the tourist sites for her first time. I saw all of the same things as last weekend and we made a few pit stops to eat as well. I'm sure you can all guess what we ate... Yep Gelato. As well as our first homemade Italian pizza. We finished our tour off at the colosseum where we counted four newlyweds who were taking wedding photos just as the sun was setting. On Sunday me and my host family went to a very nice beach only about forty five minutes away. It was sunny and warm and was right on the mediterranean. The were a few waves because it was windy but I enjoyed swimming in them with Renato. We ate lunch right on the beach at a beachfront restaurant. I had bruschetta and a greek salad. After we got home we went out to one of my new friends house for dinner. There was also a few other new friends. It was very fun and we communicated in Entalian - half English, half Italian.

Today is Tuesday and I'm just finishing packing to go to Sardinia for six days with my host mom and Anna. The family has a condo that's very close to the beach and we're very excited to see the island. From the images that we both googled it looks so beautiful! Paula advised us that we'll need our running shoes because we're going to be doing alot of activities such as tennis, mountain hiking, swimming and jogging. I will write as soon as we return to let you know how our trip was.
