Summer's here! At least it feels like it. I officially got my first sunburn the first week of April!

The month started out with a class trip to Spain for five days. The trip was to the southern part called Andalusia, and we visited cities called Malaga, Siviglia, Cordova and Granada. I really enjoyed this trip because I learned a ton of new things! The cities we visited had all been lived in by the arabs after the 7th century. The cities we visited were all a mixture of catholic, Jewish and Muslim culture because the religions all three lived in peace together during this time period.

We went in to Mosks that had beautiful islamic architecture and orange tree gardens with carvings on the walls everywhere. There was a guide to tell us all about the history and facts about the mosks, but unfortunately he spoke in a roman dialect which is different from Italian so I only caught on to about half of the things. In the mosks it was really interesting because along with the Islamic architecture, we also saw Catholic paintings and Jesus on the walls! It was a really different combination of two religious arts. The trip was a really good experience for me because there was no way to speak English and my class mates and I got along really well and laughed the entire time.
