Village of Taunton Mills Ist Nation's Outreach Project
One of several annual outreach projects (,supplying back packs ,woolen items knitted by retirement and long term care residents of Taunton Mills , dental hygene products, snow pants , face cloths  , crayons and note books , to all pupils of a remote First Nations School , and organizing in-house fund raisers such as bake  sales , sales of crafts made by residents , and special meals prepared by catering staff ) will be discussed .
Rosemary Coolen , Marketing Director of the Village of Taunton Mills will briefly describe the benifits to the residents of having such projects , which use the wisdom , expertese , talents , and past experience of residents in their retirement years .
Irene Cherrett ,a resident who has led the First Nations project since the start will briefly describe the history and scope of the program , commenting on the letters from the pupils which are welcomed by the seniors . Dennis Bayley , who uses his First Nations contacts acqiuired as Rotary District 7070 Literacy Chair , makes initial contact with remote area education authorities to select a school that would benefit from the project . He will briefly describe the chosen community school for 2021 .
