The Region of Durham’s Integrated Waste Management Plan

The Region of Durham is a growing region in North America with a great potential for economic growth. A new Regional Official Plan and provincial direction provides the potential of growth within the Region to a total population of 1.3 million for 2051. With this growth there will be the requirement to manage the associated waste service within the Region.

A summary presentation will provide initiatives related to this essential service which includes the Region’s Long Term Waste Management Plan, provincial changes to the Blue Box program, potential enhancements to the Green Bin program and energy from waste.
